ART
A POINT, A FEELING, A STORY

A large canvas is found in a dumpster on the street. Mold, dirt, carelessness, memories of someone. Frame in good condition, paint in poor condition. An intervention is proposed. Four friends gathered, paints and brushes. Transformed screen. A pact is made. Each trace corresponds to a memory or an intention.
This first experience leverages all the others. The idea of attributing meaning to lines leads Thiago to connect with painting beyond aesthetic proportion and balance. An anarchic work emerges from there, although a synergy prevails. By rescuing memories, whether traumatic or joyful, painting starts to occupy a place beyond the brush, beyond the form. The representation of the self combined with visual shock, the euphoria of saturated hues, the rebelliousness of disconnected features, balance in chaos. All this as an allegory for the representation of feelings, the creation of meanings. Step by step, aspects of life, common to all of us, create a powerful mosaic.

SYMMETRIC DEBATE
Vasc. x Yuzo
Collaboration between friends Thiago Vasc. and Felipe Yuzo, the Symmetric Debate is a great reflective journey on the symmetry of things beyond the question of imagery, adding a perspective of a dialectical, intangible symmetry. The intense conversations are accompanied by movements in painting that reveal the meaning of their reflections.
MONSTERS
In his most recent works, Thiago seeks to explore the monsters that represent his traumas, which accompany them in thoughts and nightmares.
MEMORIES
In his first series of individual paintings, Thiago explores sets of important memories from his childhood to early adulthood. The process begins with listing and grouping memories and then translating them into colors, shapes, symbols and gestures that come to mind to represent the feeling that each memory awakens, integrating different memories on each screen.
CATCHPHRASES
In a playful complement to the Memories series, the artist recalls phrases that marked his relationship with friends and family throughout his life. They are catchphrases with specific stories and meanings, which are understandable for those who repeated it.
The artist's most complex works depict the aftermath of a burnout, a professional exhaustion associated with work-related stress, while he was managing the menswear line of the century-old Brazilian fashion brand Hering.
The works full of colors and intensity were created shortly after the burnout, made of discarded materials that the artist found along his way. In a second moment, when the artist falls into depression after being fired without a second chance or any accountability on the part of the company, the works are painted black, portraying the process of overcoming the negative memories of the work experience.
