LIFE
Thiago Vasconcelos was born and raised in Itabirito, in the countryside of Minas Gerais, raised by his mother, aunt and grandmother. He was a sunny, active child, with the privilege of spending most of his childhood and adolescence playing with his friends in the street at home.
He left the family home at the age of 17 to study Economics at the Federal University of Viçosa, a period marked by new experiences and good friendships. Lived in New York during college for 3 months to work and improve his English.
After college, he started his first fashion business with clothing and his own brand. Two years later, he left the enterprise to work for the brand Hering, leading the brand's menswear line. It was during this period that he started painting.
He left the company after 3 years and launched a new fashion brand, PAS, aimed at representativeness. He produced music videos through the brand, one of which was recorded on Instituto Tomie Ohtake in Sao Paulo. The audiovisual work can be found at YouTube. PAS has dressed celebrities Lázaro Ramos and Whindersson Nunes until it was paused for Thiago to dedicate himself to new projects.
At the moment, Thiago Vasconcelos works in the technology field with entrepreneurship and management of digital products, reconciling his professional life with artistic work.
ART
Art enters Thiago's life by chance. He was introduced to painting by his friend and expert painter, Juguaracy Campos. Upon finding an abandoned large canvas in a dumpster in front of his house, Thiago asks his friend Juguaracy to intervene. He accepts, but proposes that everyone participate. In a game of repetition of basic shapes in different colors comes the awakening to a fun and uncompromising experience, when Thiago realizes that he can represent whatever he wants in the way he wants in painting.
Collecting memories that marked his life, Thiago began to paint intensely after his often exhausting workdays. Art starts to occupy a place of expressive and creative refuge for someone who, before that, had never had any minimally deep or qualified contact with drawing and painting.
Thiago paints at his own pace, free, without commitment, and considers his artwork to be the purest synthesis of his life journey.
